Our Vision
To be a faithful, growing church, that demonstrates true community, deep Christian spirituality and a passion for justice.
– Micah 6:8
Our Mission
To be and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, witnessing, loving and serving from our doorsteps “to the ends of the earth.”
– Acts 1:8
Our Core Values
Micah 6:8
He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
HUMILITY
As God is just and loving, so we are called to walk humbly and live in love.
PEACE
Colossians 3:15
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
Believers have an obligation to “let the peace of God rule” in their hearts.
LOVE
John 13:34-35
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Everyone who calls themselves a follower of Christ is called to walk in love.
1 Peter 3:8
Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.

COMPASSION
The Latin root for the word compassion is pati, which means to suffer, and the prefix "com" - implies with. We followers of Christ are called to be compassionate with those suffering and feel compelled to reduce their suffering.
KINDNESS
Colossians 3:12
Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.
Be Jesus to someone today and every day; make Him your role model and kindness your lifestyle.
Our Beliefs
The Bible

The Disciples of Christ believe that the Bible is a collection of stories, parables, poems, and songs inspired by God to help us understand how God wants us to live our lives. We encourage all to read and study God’s word for themselves and different interpretations of scripture that lead to healthy discussions are encouraged and always welcome.
God
Creator of the Universe (Genesis 1.1). One Existing as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (John 10.30; Titus 3.4-6)
Baptism
Baptism is practiced by immersion; however, people who join from other Christian denominations are accepted without the need to be baptized again. Baptism is performed at the age of accountability.
Salvation
The Disciples' Confession states that "Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God ... Lord, and Savior of the world." Belief in Christ as Savior is the only requirement for salvation.
(Romans 10:9, John 14:6)

Belief/faith is defined as a relationship of love and trust with God the God we know in and through Jesus Christ.
The Trinity
Disciples of Christ profess God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in their Confession, and they baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Church members are allowed freedom of opinion on this and other doctrines and are expected to give others that same freedom.
(Matthew 28:19)
The Church
We believe that the church was founded on the day of Pentecost, consisting of all Christians everywhere.
(Acts 2.1-47; Ephesians 4.4-6).

Church Practices

Worship Service:
Christian Church services are similar to those of other mainline Protestant churches. There is singing of hymns, responsive readings, recitation of the Lord's Prayer, Scripture readings, a sermon, an offering, communion service, and a closing hymn.
(Psalm 95:6, Matthew 18:20)

Church Leadership:
Overseen by a Board of elected officials and a contingent of Elders.
(1 Timothy 3.1-7).
Communion
Open communion, where all Christians are welcome, was one of the reasons for the founding of the Christian Church. In the Lord's Supper, "the living Christ is met and received in the sharing of the bread and the cup, representative of the body and blood of Jesus."

The Lord's Table is the central focus of worship in the Christian Church, explaining the use of a chalice as the church's official logo. Since one of the goals of the Disciples of Christ is to foster Christian unity, communion is open to all Christians. The Christian Church practices communion weekly.
