Our Church
During the early 1950s, few churches in Lee County were available to Lexington residents. This forced residents to travel roughly 20 miles for Sunday Worship Services. After doing some research, the dream of a First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), in Lexington began to grow.

First Christian Church Lexington was born on April 23, 1956. Meeting in homes while looking for a permanent location, that first meeting had joyous singing and a sermon delivered by the Reverend Pugh of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rockdale TX. After a summer of Cottage Prayer Meetings, the Sunday services were moved to Lexington High School. While meeting at this location, seventeen members of The First Christian Church - Lexington observed Charter Day on September 16th, 1956.
First Christian broke ground on its current location in March of 1963. The current Fellowship Hall was added in 1996. Upon completion, First Christian Church opened its doors on April 21, 1963, with the honorable Reverend Charles M. Buck at its helm.
